Earth and Sky is a young company that grew out of a combination of my professiomal life and my retirement interests. I worked for over 30 years as a historic preservationist both in the private and public sector researching in archives, documenting historic properties in the field, and writing hundreds of survey forms, reports, effects evaluations, HABS/HAER documents, National Register nominations, and popular histories.
In my retirement, I began volunteering for a county historical society and was also asked to join the. board. From that experience have become increasingly convinced that many or most historic organizations are prisoners of the past and are slowly or rapidly dying because of that. To attract new, younger, larger, and more diverse audiences, use of modern means of communication is vital,
Out of this realization came my interest in drones, 3D cameras and their use in programs to interpret history to the public. I am still learning but would welcome the chaance to discuss how we can learn together.
